Alex and the Kaleidoscope Band playing at Infinity Bistro April 18th


Take the kids to Norfolk's Infinity Bistro for a fun afternoon of music.

With 14 awards for excellence in children's entertainment, Philadelphia based Alex & The Kaleidoscope Band engage and uplift audiences of all ages with their lively and interactive musical performances. Expect hand clapping, foot stomping, world music infused songs that inspire families to sing, dance, smile and get lost in the magic of the music. Alex will be joined by the full Kaleidoscope Band which includes guitar, bass, drums and two female singers who also play trombone.

The show is April 18 at 12 pm. Tickets are $12 and $15.

Dodd, Lieberman Applaud Over $11 Million for Airport Improvements in Connecticut

Senators Joe Lieberman (ID-CT) and Chris Dodd (D-CT) today praised the release of over $11 million for improvements to three Connecticut airports.

Tweed-New Haven Airport will receive $3,671,818 for runway rehabilitation. The CT Department of Trasportation will receive $4.85 million for both noise mitigation and land acquistion for resident of the Triangle Hills area of Middlebury near the Waterbury-Oxford Airport. The CT Department of Transporation will receive an additional $2.5 million for noise mitigation measures for residences surrounding Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks.

"These funds will ensure critical runway imporvements at New Haven's Tweed Airport and help alleviate noise for communities around Bradlye and Waterbury-Oxford airports," said Dodd. "These federal investments will not only improve the quality of life for many Connecticut families, they will help maintain the quality of airport operations we all depend on for safe travel."

"Investing in our transportation infrastructure is important to restoring our economy and creating new jobs," Lieberman said. "These investments in Connecticut's airports will both strengthen our economy and improve the quality of life for surroundin residents."

The grants were awarded by the Federal Aviation Adminsitration.
