Nicole Frechette to perform at Indoor Country Fair

If you have ever wondered what you get when you mix sparkling clean Farmington River water and ice cold Farmington River Brewery beer in an “Old Well,” then you will want to join hundreds of people kicking up their boots at The Indoor Country Fair at Simsbury’s Old Well Tavern featuring up and coming country music star Nicole Frechette and her rousing 5-piece band.
The event is from 3 to 7 p.m. Feb. 21.
You will have the opportunity to browse, sample and shop at a Country Fair Marketplace chock full of crafts and wares from local jewelers, artists, gourmet food proprietors, a yoga studio and even a massage therapist who will donate a portion of her chair massage proceeds to FRWA.
Add to that the Farmington River Brewery’s generous support and tasty suds, and you have the recipe for a one-of-a-kind benefit; certain to warm your heart and soul and help you kick those winter blues.
The vendors are all contributing toward the event, and the host restaurant will donate a portion of hot dog, hamburger and French-fries-in-a-cup sales to the group. Tickets are only $15, and all proceeds will benefit the non-profit organization.
“We are so grateful for the backing of the band, the brewery, the restaurant and the vendors; as well as Sharon Mayock Graphic Design and Local Color Ink Printing who donated the posters and tickets,” said FRWA President Matthew Reichin. “The Old Well Tavern has such excellent food – and is a great venue for a country fair. We even had an a cappella group volunteer to entertain in the marketplace when the band takes a break.”
Tickets will be sold at the door, but space is certain to be limited. For additional information regarding this fundraiser or to make reservations, contact the FRWA office at 860-658-4442 – or stop by the Old Well Tavern, 20 Tariffville Road in Simsbury. The Farmington River Watershed Association (FRWA), a 501© (3) non-profit environmental organization, has been the guardian and champion of the Farmington River and its watershed since its inception in 1953. Today, FRWA conducts research, education and advocacy programs to fulfill its mission of protecting the Farmington River and the natural resources of its watershed, forever.
Stretching across 33 towns and 609 square miles, the Farmington River Watershed is an essential resource for life in Connecticut and Massachusetts. The watershed supports abundant recreational opportunities; unique fish, wildlife, and plant habitats; hydropower generation and it was the first river in Connecticut to have a section federally designated as “Wild and Scenic”. The watershed’s reservoirs and aquifers provide clean water to about 1 million people (1/3rd of Connecticut’s entire population).
