Mark Greenberg reports more than $441K cash on hand

(May 10) Mark Greenberg, a Republican candidate for the 5th Congressional District, reports $441,824 Cash on Hand In Pre-Convention Filing, he said in a news release May 10.
Greenberg announced that his campaign committee reported $441,824 cash on hand in a pre-Convention financial filing. Greenberg, a successful businessman who has created hundreds of jobs over the past 35 years, has led all other Republican candidates in the District in cash on hand at each reporting milestone since announcing his candidacy last November.
“As we approach the nominating convention I am in the best position of all the Republican candidates to beat Chris Murphy,” Greenberg said in a written statement. “I have the right message and the right resources to beat Chris Murphy. It’s time to change the course set by career politicians like Chris Murphy who care more about getting re-elected than they do about putting people back to work.”
“I will bring real change to Washington, I will roll up my sleeves and start getting unemployed Americans working again,” he said. “I know what it takes to create jobs. I know what makes the economy successful because I've been part of what works for the last 35 years.”
“I'm proud that I was able to achieve the American Dream. I am running for Congress because I want to make sure the same opportunities which were available to our generation and our parents' generation will still be available for our children and grandchildren. Unfortunately, the policies of big-government Democrats like Chris Murphy are eroding that Dream.”
“That's why change in Washington is so important - and that's why we must defeat Chris Murphy in November. Chris Murphy will be well-funded by the unions and special interests and the rest of the status quo of which he is a part. To beat him we have to be able to stand toe-to-toe with him in terms of the ability to get our message out to the people of the 5th District. Of all the Republican candidates I alone will have the ability to match Murphy's fire with fire.”
